The interest in Amir Temur the Great’s activity and the material and spiritual heritage left by him has always been strong not only in eastern countries but in western ones too. The obvious proof of our opinion is that scientists are studying Temur’s life and activity in more then fifty countries of the world, “The Association of research the culture and history of Temurid’s age” is working, Great Temur’s fighting art is being taught in many military academies as a classic method, a lot of literary works devoted to Amir Temur and his activity were written and are being written in the USA, England, Germany, France, India, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and many other countries of the world. Here an opinion of an oriental scientist A. E. Snesarev is worth being given. It is known that A. E. Snesarev was a well-known military man who was too interested in studying A. Temur’s activity as a leader and organizer. He assessed representatives of European historians’ humiliating Asian reasonably famous military leaders” and their adding well-known leaders as Amir Temur to the list of men “ruining countries mercilessly”, “blood-thirsty” as biasness and approach from one side in an unscientific way. He wrote, “let me call it too misunderstanding and unfair”, not giving little explanations.
Continuing these ideas we think it is necessary to point out some other positive opinions about Amir Temur’s activity.
SENKSYON (a French journalist) writes: My Lord! It has been over a century the history of Great Temur is known and popular in Europe … besides it is admissible to stress that this great man was more superior than Ceazar and Makedonski. Because admitting all the best sides of their military skill Temur tried not to repeat their mistakes. In the result he left them behind in gaining fame and popularity.
ALFONS DE PAMARTY (a French historian) says: Amir Temur had deep knowledge in religion, medicine, history, law and astronomy. He had read much. He was a powerful ruler who knew three fruitful three (Turkish, Persian, Arabian) languages.
L. LYANLE (a French historian) writes: Temur was kind to scholars. He used to trust well-educated and honest people. He often used to get up from his throne and come to historians, thinkers, besides people who were experts in office, science affairs and others to have a talk. Because he paid much attention to take care of these branches.
IBN RHALDUN (Arabian historian and thinker from Suria): Temur was well-educated parent of the history of East and West among the kings and people.
ALISHER NAVOI: He wouldn’t recite poems, but he had learned prose and poet very well, if he recites a poem, he will recite better than one who has been reciting hundreds.
HERMAN VAMBERY (Hungarian oriental scientist): We can see Temur’s special position in the history of Central Asia in that he got to begin not the temurids’ dynasty but the new age of Central Asian culture which can be called Turkish one.
LOGOFET D. N. (a scientist who researched Bukhara emirate): When there wasn’t any understanding about constitution in Europe in his state there existed Collection of Laws, in his reign citizens were treated with fair, firm regulations were even set in finance affairs.
MUINIDDIN NATANSI: Amir The Great used to make friends with representatives of science and scholar men. He too respected them. He became master in the Moslems’ lineage and commentary, got to know well about Turkish, Arabian and overseas countries’ kings listening to books on history. Besides there often happened to be discussions on scientific problems in his assemblies. He always used to become superior in delicate questions, and often the solutions offered by him used to be right and well-founded. He had enough information about famous problems in medicine and astronomy.
IBN ARABSHAKH writes: They used to consider Temur the king of seven worlds, the ruler of kings and sultans. Temur was kind to people and close to people of religion. He used to show his entire respect to scholars and scientists and put them higher than all other ones. He loved any people with trade and profession if there was any good in them. Temur was the owner of incomparable temper and deep consideration, there wasn’t the end of his thinking and it was impossible to find through neither a level nor rough way to the mountain of his measures.
IVAN GREENLAW (contemporary of Temur) said: Temurbek … he is so strong in the Koran and philosophy not any muslem can contest with him in those.
Through all these opinions we can realize that in many countries of Europe and the East they still deeply respect Amir Temur’s personality. Why? Because he was one of the greatest statesmen and leaders who was ready to give his life for the benefit of the mankind and to set justice in ruling government and society. We can get to know it from the words of our respected President’s following words: “There were many monarchs passed in the history, it is known that main part of them lived in enjoyment. Nobody remembers them today. But history and future never forget the statesman burning with the care of nation, living devoted to the happiness and independence of it. Amir Temur is such kind of historical and unforgettable person”.
